Phelan plans to set Andy his most dangerous challenge to date.
Having giving Luke a flash of her underwear at the garage Tracy wanders off with a smirk on her face.
Meanwhile Phelan loiters around the garage somewhat inconspicuously, desperate to get his hands on Kevin’s laptop to destroy the CCTV footage of his conversation with Todd last week, but Kevin tells him to stop hanging around.
Quietly fuming, Phelan demands Andy to burn down Kevin’s garage, telling him it’ll be the worst for Steph if he fails to do so. At the bistro, Phelan spikes Kevin’s drinks with vodka before promising Robert and Steph that he’ll get him home like the kind caring Weatherfield resident he is.
When Tracy overhears Freddie talking about the new CCTV at the garage, she’s mortified, realising they’ll have images of her in her underwear. Dragging Luke out of The Rovers, Tracy insists they must get rid of the footage immediately.
Phelan guides Kevin to the old garage and having stolen his keys, leaves him on the back seat of a customer’s car in a drunken state of near-unconsciousness. Phelan hands the keys to Andy who lets himself into the new garage and prepares for the task ahead. But when he’s interrupted by Luke and Tracy's sudden arrival, is Andy about to be discovered?
Steve is heartbroken over his & Michelle's harrowing life changing events and struggles to comfort his wife.
Nick confides in Leanne that he’s concerned Michelle’s baby might have had a genetic defect which caused the early labour and Leanne does her best to reassure him.
Meanwhile, Michelle hides away in the bedroom, desperately missing her baby and unable to face the outside world. Steve is at a loss for what to do.
A new opportunity for Bethany arises.
Bethany shows Nathan some photographs on her phone of hair and makeup which she’s done for friends. Nathan is impressed and offering to give her his old camera, suggests she should do online tutorials. Bethany is flattered.
Elsewhere, Gary returns from Germany and is gutted to find out from Dev that the gym has gone bust. Meanwhile when Chesney turns down Sinead’s invitation for a date night, will she accept Daniel’s offer to buy her a drink instead?
9080 - Monday 16th January
Andy the arsonist is reaching breaking point.
Satisfied they’ve deleted the saucy footage from the garage's CCTV, Luke and Tracy head out, locking the new garage behind them. Andy breathes a sigh of relief. Freddie, Tyrone and Luke find Kevin sprawled out in the back of a car in the old garage but realising he’s drunk they leave him to it. Seizing the moment, Andy sets fire to the new garage and steals Kevin’s laptop as he does a runner. Brian notices the garage on fire and orders everybody to stand clear while he calls the fire brigade. As the fire rages through the garage Phelan gives himself a satisfied smile, while Freddie, Tyrone, Luke and Kevin watch in anguish. Having returned home a shaken Andy shoves Kevin’s laptop in a cupboard and his fire damaged clothes in the washing machine. Steph arrives home and makes a grim discovery - Andy’s blackened clothes. Glad to finally unburden himself of Phelan's torment, Andy tells Steph how he attacked Phelan as revenge for Michael but Phelan’s been blackmailing him ever since. Steph listens aghast at his list of crimes. Will Steph report Andy or stand by her man?
Steve struggles to do the right thing.
In the cab office Eileen hugs Steve and over tea and biscuits, tells him of her secret wedding plans. Steve is grateful for the distraction. Michelle emerges from the bedroom and wonders where Steve has got to. When Liz explains that he has popped over to Street Cars, Michelle’s deeply hurt. When Nick tentatively asks Steve why baby Ruairi died and if it could possibly be something genetic, Steve punches him. Having clocked their exchange through the bedroom window, Michelle’s horrified and a further strain is placed on their relationship?
Love is in the air - again - for Sarah & Gary.
Sarah admits to Gary how much she missed him and they kiss passionately. Are they back on?
Elsewhere, telling Tim that communication is the key to a healthy marriage, Sally insists that from now on, they’ll only have sex after an improving conversation.
9081 - Wednesday 18th January
Kevin falls further foul of Phelan.
As the fire investigator sifts through the charred remains of the garage, he discovers a set of keys. Kevin surveys the scene, distraught. Steph tells Andy they are flying to Portugal on Friday (to stay with Katy) and need to focus on getting as far away from Phelan as they can. As they tell a perplexed Luke of their plans to move Portugal he wonders if there’s more to it than they’re letting on. Meanwhile when Kevin tells Tyrone that he intends to sell the garage once the insurance has paid out, Tyrone becomes suspicious, especially when the fire investigator confirms that the blaze is now in the hands of the police as they suspect it’s a case of arson. The police confirm that with no sign of a forced entry and no sign of Kevin’s laptop it looks like arson. As Tyrone confronts Kevin over the fire, falsly suggesting he started it himself, the police arrive. Will Kevin be arrested on suspicion of arson?
Meanwhile Eileen reveals to Liz that wedding bells are to be heard sooner than everyone thinks as she is marrying Phelan tomorrow.
Steve drops a bombshell which deeply stuns Peter.
Telling Liz that she is disgusted with Steve - who is behaving like nothing has happened - Michelle makes her way to the Chapel of Rest so she can visit Ruairi for some comfort.
Steve breaks down and confesses to Peter that Leanne is pregnant with his child and he blames himself for Michelle’s ordeal as it’s payback for his terrible behaviour - will Peter be able to offer any words of comfort?
It's a fresh start for Shona as she begins a new chapter.
Shona starts work at the café. When Roy explains the difference in VAT on ‘eat in’ or ‘takeaway’ food, Shona does her best to appear interested.
Elswhere, In retaliation for Sally’s sex ban, Tim imposes a talking ban on Weatherfield's local councellor. Daniel thanks Sinead for all her help with his MA application and presents her with a venus fly trap. Sarah breaks the news to Bethany that she and Gary are back together.
9082 - Friday 20th January
Andy tries to beat Phelan at his own game.
As the police interrogate Kevin about the fire, Steph points out to Tyrone that Kevin would be unlikely to burn down his own garage as he wouldn’t be able to make an insurance claim. Given food for thought, Tyrone lies to the police, telling them that Kevin was in a drunken sleep and couldn’t possibly have torched the garage. Having been released, Kevin thanks Tyrone for sticking up for him. Tyrone angrily points out that he lied for the sake of his family, not him, in the hope the insurance company will pay out. When Andy finds out from Tyrone that Kevin’s missing laptop could contain vital CCTV footage, he forms a plan. Promising Steph that he’ll meet her at the airport, Andy sets about rifling through all the CCTV footage, in a bid to get Kevin off the hook.
He is intrigued to come across Phelan admitting to Todd that he was behind the building scam. Having heard a knock at the door, Andy opens it and to his horror comes face to face with Phelan. Spotting his own image on the computer screen, Phelan demands answers.
Liz is being pushed to breaking point.
Having been summoned by Michelle, Billy calls at The Rovers to discuss Ruairi’s funeral arrangements.
Liz is upset to realise Michelle hasn’t involved Steve.
Bethany seeks further friendship from Nathan - but is he out for her best interests?
When Nathan calls in the café, he is shocked to find Shona working there. Shona serves him with ill concealed loathing and Roy’s curious. Having given Bethany the camera he promised her, Nathan lures her into his car suggesting she can film her online tutorials in his tanning salon. Meanwhile recognising Shona as the woman from the bar, David thanks her for having the decency to return his wallet. Shona hurries away leaving David bemused.
Elsewhere, as Eileen excitedly prepares for her wedding, Todd wishes his Mum well, covering his dislike of Phelan. Chesney takes Sinead’s venus fly trap into work to show Gemma who suggests feeding it kebab meat for a laugh. When Sinead discovers her venus fly trap looking rather sickly, will Chesney confess?
Convinced that what they need is a shared hobby, Tim presents Sally with two season tickets for Weatherfield County.
9083 - Friday 20th January
Will Phelan win in love and war?
Simmering with rage and fury, Phelan tells Andy that the whole reason for burning down the garage was to destroy Kevin’s laptop. Secretly pressing record on his phone, Andy quizzes Phelan about the building scam and Michael’s death. Having smelt a rat, Phelan makes a grab for Andy’s phone. In a desperate bid to escape, Andy promises Phelan he’ll destroy the laptop and he’ll never hear from him again. But as Phelan scrolls through the pictures on Andy’s phone, scoffing at the ones of Michael, Andy snaps and clouts Phelan over the head with the laptop. As Steph waits for Andy at the airport she confides in Luke that their relationship has been under a lot of strain recently and she would not be surprised if Andy didn’t show up. Andy makes to leave but Phelan fights back, will he prove too strong for Andy?
Meanwhile, Eileen waits nervously for Phelan at the Register Office, while Steph continues to sweat at the airport. Will Eileen become Mrs. Pat Phelan? Will Steph & Andy escape from Weatherfield?
Michelle asks Steve to return to The Rovers.
Liz talks to Michelle about her own agony at losing baby Katie back in January of 1992 and how important it was for she and Jim to stay strong as a couple. Michelle apologises to Steve for cutting him out of the funeral arrangements and asks him to move back home.
When something is too good to be true, it usually is and Bethany is blind to see it.
In the tanning salon, Nathan films Bethany as she embarks on a French plait tutorial. As Bethany finishes her video, Nathan showers her with compliments and suggests that next time, she should show a bit of her killer body. Will a flattered Bethany agree?
Elsewhere, Chesney begs Sinead to give him another chance, promising her he’ll never take her for granted again, will Sinead agree?
David is intrigued when Shona reveals that she is working in the café and has moved in with Billy and Todd at No. 11 Coronation Street.
Determined to find a hobby they can share, Tim shows Sally the second hand tandem he’s bought.
Sally’s horrified but will she agree to give it a go?
