This week in Shieldinch… Annie’s attempts to free Faith from a life of enslavement enrage Rick; Bob and Kim’s family planning plans stumble when Angus has an accident; and Alasdair puts himself in a compromising position to pay Jules’ rent.

Annie is understandably shocked when a worried Faith turns up on her doorstep, begging for help with one of her friends who was badly injured by a client. Worried about the girls, Annie pleads with Rick to let Faith and her friend go but he warns her to stay out of his business or face dire consequences. - What more could Rick possibly have up his sleeve?

Ignoring the threat, Annie goes to the flat to try and help Faith escape from her prison and comes face-to-face with an enraged Rick. Annie turns to Alex for help and is horrified to discover her fiancé is already in cahoots with Rick. Annoyed at Alex’s amorality, Annie calls off their engagement and turns to an unlikely source to help her give Faith freedom. - Who is the unlikely ally?

Elsewhere, Bob and Kim nervously await the arrival of their home insemination kit as baby making plans dominate their lives.

Angus and Cassie struggle with their self-imposed sex ban, believing it will help maximise their chances. Determined to get himself into peak physical condition, Angus hits the gym but has an accident on an exercise bike which threatens his participation in the baby making process.

A cash-strapped Alasdair feels the pinch when Suzie asks for Jules’ late rent. Alasdair attempts to confess all to Jules but guilt gets the better of him. Desperate to stop Jules becoming homeless, Alasdair takes drastic action to make ends meet.

This week in Shieldinch… Lenny is feathers are ruffled when young pretender, Rick Harper, tries to lay claim to his throne; Bob and Kim’s relationship hits rocky ground when he makes a premature declaration of love; and Suzie pits sisters Ellie and Caitlin against each other in a job interview.

Murdoch Enterprises becomes a target of vandalism which Lenny quickly discovers is a message from new gangster in town, Rick Harper.

Rick tells Lenny the Murdochs are weak and he intends to take control of Shieldinch. Refusing to be intimidated, Lenny demands compensation for the vandalism caused but Rick is not about to pay up.

Meanwhile, a heartbroken Amber returns from DI Donald’s funeral, unaware she is being tailed by DCI Grant. She tells Lenny she has questions about DI Donald’s death leading him to try and get a defiant Amber to leave town.

Just then, a beaten up Alex arrives home, bloodied. It’s clear Rick’s threat is real and the Murdochs must sit up and take notice.

Elsewhere, a besotted Bob is in high spirits having new girlfriend Kim staying with him, much to Scarlett’s dismay. However, when Angus jokes about Bob’s history of moving too fast in relationships, it plants a seed of doubt in Bob’s head.

There is sibling rivalry behind the bar at the Tall Ship as Ellie and Caitlin are forced to compete for a job. Suzie sets ridiculous tasks for them to achieve and, in spite of a poor performance, Ellie gets the job resulting in Caitlin being sacked.

In short:

Lenny's feathers are ruffled when a young pretender turns up in Shieldinch and tries to lay claim to his throne. Bob accidentally lets the L word slip with Kim and is worried he has scared her off with his declaration. Suzie needs to make staff cuts at the Tall Ship and pits Caitlin and Ellie against each other for a job in the bar.

This week in Shieldinch…

Frankie tests Lorna and Andy’s relationship to the limit; Alex fears Lenny is behind Amber’s sudden disappearance but there is worse to come; and, against Cassie’s wishes, Angus plays matchmaker to Bob and Kim.

Frankie overhears a conversation between her mum, Lorna, and Andy which proves unsettling. Determined to destroy her mum’s new relationship, Frankie takes her flirtations with Andy one step further but he rejects her advances.

At a loss what to do, Lorna confides in Annie but her attempts to call out her niece’s bad behaviour only add fuel to the fire. Frankie confronts Lorna and their confrontation becomes heated with Lorna slapping her daughter. Frankie seeks her revenge and calls the police to report the incident little realising the potential ramifications this will have for the Roth family.

Elsewhere, Alex challenges Lenny about his suspicions that he has made Amber disappear. Desperate, Alex turns to DI Donald for police intervention, to no avail.

However, when Molly reveals she spotted Amber with Belinda a few days ago, DI Donald finally consider Alex’s pleas that Amber has been abducted. Worse still, Belinda has a sealed criminal file – Amber’s life could be in danger.

The love life of Bob is a cause for concern for Angus so he stages a romantic intervention. Realising one of Bob’s old flames, Kim, will be at the Pop Up’s latest dating night, Angus conspires to get Bob there, much to Cassie’s disapproval.

In short:

Frankie tests Lorna and Andy's relationship to the limit.
Amber realises that Belinda is holding her hostage, but can she escape?
Alex fears Lenny has caused Amber to go missing, but there is worse to come.
Against Cassie's wishes, Angus decides to matchmake his mate, Bob.
