Since arriving in Walford, on-screen, Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling Ellis) has been somewhat of a mystery character. Not much was known about her apart from she's deaf and the reason behind her insertion was to assist the already established Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) as he went through his own battle with deafness.
Tonight's (Monday 14 Septemeber 2020) episode, viewers learnt of Frankie's troubled past as her backstory was explored. Frankie's brother tragically died at a fairly young age.
Frankie has been employed by Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) to work at The Albert under the management of Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White). When Frankie arrived for her shift, she and Tina had a conversation which revealed Frankie's brother's death. Frankie, a keen photographer, had a digital camera with her. Tina looked through the pictures to find images of a child (Frankie's brother) who looks remarkably like Tina's youngest sibling, Oliver Carter (Harry Farr).
After their shift at The Albert, Tina took Frankie to The Queen Vic where they met with Tina's family. Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) exhanged plesantries while Oliver sat quietly at the table with his parents. Oliver gave Frankie a smile and the reaction on her face was almost euphoric.
As Linda & Mick teased Tina about maybe having a crush on Frankie, Frankie was sitting with Oliver and told him about her brother. Frankie's mannerisms were somewhat obsessive over the young boy.
Later, as Mick, Tina & Linda played football with Oliver on Bridge Street, EastEnders fans saw Frankie taking photograph after photograph after photograph of The Carters - more specifically Oliver.
Since Frankie seemingly obsesses over her dead brother and the fact Oliver looks a dead ringer to the deceased sibling.
As the BBC have previously revealed that Oliver Carter is to depart Tony Holland & Julia Smith's programme in the coming weeks, is this his exit storyline? Will Frankie abduct Oliver to replace her brother?
Only time will tell.
EastEnders continues tomorrow at 19:35 on BBC One.
