River City Monday 06 April 2020 BBC Scotland 22:00 Devised by Stephen Greenhorn Written by Asher Pirie Directed by David Winstone Series Producer: Kevin McComiskie Series Producer: Oliver Kent Executive Producer: Kate Oates This week in Shieldinch… Ruby’s plans to take baby Joseph home are thwarted when concerns are raised about her welfare, Jessie goes on a mission to discover the truth about dad Alex, and Dylan’s desperation to keep his brother Cameron at home threatens to push him away. At the hospital, a sleep-deprived Ruby prepares to take baby Joseph home. Jac offers her support, but family disharmony comes calling when Maggie and Ellie arrive. Ruby is stunned when social services express concern about her ability to cope as a teenage single mum. Enraged to discover baby Joseph is on the child protection register, Ruby vows to do the right thing by her son and agrees to 'living with a responsible adult' for support. Ruby forces Nicole to lie that they’ll provide a stable home together. However, when cracks start to appear in their story, Ruby takes drastic measures to keep her son with her. Maggie steps in to calm tensions, but there is further trouble in store for the McLeans when Ruby plays dirty to push her mother Caitlin and the rest of the McLeans away - once and for all. Elsewhere, with Alex struggling to bond with his daughter Jessie, Jessie takes it upon herself to discover some more about her dad. But she is stunned when she uncovers the depths of Alex’s colourful past. Dylan’s attempts to get Cameron to settle in Shieldinch backfire. When Cameron confesses the real reason he left university, a shocked Eve refuses to further fund his hedonistic lifestyle - leaving Cameron very little option but to stay put, much to Dylan’s delight.
