Lockdown in The Queen Victoria has been bliss for Ian and Sharon - until Kirsty decides to burst their bubble.

PC Highway fears Ben's crimes have caught up with them.

The Walford residents are back after an 11-week absence and it's pretty much business as usual in Albert Square.

Sharon, now settled behind the bar of The Queen Victoria, is given a stark reminder of the boat crash that killed her son, leaving Ian more determined than ever to buy Dotty's silence.

A desperate Chantelle seeks out a divorce lawyer from one of Gray's rival law firms.

Mick searches for a job while wife Linda makes ends meet in the launderette.

Callum gets a shock at work when trawling through CCTV footage of a burglary.

Ruby and Martin try to ignore Kat's nasty comments about their relationship.

A few new storylines are created in the first episode back after 53 days (on 07 September 2020), especially with the burden of CoronaVirus Pandemic damaging the daily workings of businesses across the United Kingdom. 

This episode obviously takes a different tone from what EastEnders have produced.  You will notice the obvious social distancing between characters.

The opening is absolutely perfect and very fitting to the new normal.
