Just after I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! finishes Noel hits a milestone birthday - 70-years-old - with that he declares if he wins I'm A Celebrity, he will retire from the television screens.
Noel is a seasoned veteran in media broadcasting. From playing pranks on celebrities during his, arguably, most successful and well-known entertainment show - 'Noel's House Party' - on the BBC with his infamous 'GOT'CHA' feature to hosting quizzes on 'Telly Addicts' which was also on the BBC. It would be foolish not to mention 'Deal Or No Deal' from Channel 4 where he and a contestant attempted to beat a fictional 'Banker' to win a money prize. And who could forget the 'Multi-Coloured Swap Shop' where he presented with the late Keith Chegwin.
When asked about his future stint in the jungle he said:
“I think people will be surprised, I think my friends are going to be absolutely stunned.”
The idea for Noel to do the Australian reality series came from when Noel performed in a comedy sketch for Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and his 15-year-old son, Harrison, made the comment which would, more or less, set the wheels-in-motion to today:
‘Ah you should do the Jungle, it will be brilliant; you have got to do the Jungle’."
Harrison demanded and now here we are, Noel Edmonds is doing 'the jungle'.
Noel accredits his son with his I'm A Celebrity casting.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV/STV/ITV2.
