Russell Watson is an operatic pop singer originating from Irlam, Lancashire.

On Thursday 24 November 1966, Russell Watson was born.

He is a British Tenor singer who has released many albums and performed across the world. 

His highest chart position in the United Kingdom, according to The Official Charts Company, is number 10 for his song "Someone Like You".  It featured Faye Tozer from pop group Steps. 

When he sang "God Save The Queen" during the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembly Stadium, people began to notice his talented voice and that's roughly from where Russell's career began. 

At the UEFA Champions League Final (1999) between Manchester United & Bayern Munich, Russell was invited to perform a full set of hits at Half Time.  

In May of 2001, Russell released his debut album entitled "The Voice", which shares his moniker. 

Russell's plans of releasing another album in 2006 was cut short when he had to receive emergency surgery to remove a benign pituitary tumour.  The album, "That's Life", was eventually released but in 2007 he had to go back in for more surgery as the tumour regrown and was bleeding into his brain.  

He treasures his daughters the most in life and in Spain (2015), Russell married Louise Harris, his girlfriend of five years.
