​Sir Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah CBE is an olympic legend.

Born in Mogadishu, Somalia on Wednesday ​23 March 1983, Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah (known simply as Mo Farah or Sir Mo Farah) was a keen sportsman from a very young age.

Sir Mo, has a very impressive Olympic Games and World Championship (Athletics) record in the sport of distance running.

Farah has a twin brother, Hassan, who lives in Somalia.  The pair were separated when they were 8-years-old, when Mo, his two younger brothers, and his mother joined their father, who had been working and studying in the United Kingdom.

Between 2011 and 2017, Mo lived in Portland, Oregon.

Sir Mo is a Muslim and is a proud supporter of The Muslim Writers Awards.

In 2013, Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre recognised Sir Mo as one of the 500 most influential Muslims in the World.

Sir Mo is a fan of Arsenal Football Club and has trained with their first team, occasionally.
