This week in Shieldinch… Annie’s attempts to free Faith from a life of enslavement enrage Rick; Bob and Kim’s family planning plans stumble when Angus has an accident; and Alasdair puts himself in a compromising position to pay Jules’ rent.
Annie is understandably shocked when a worried Faith turns up on her doorstep, begging for help with one of her friends who was badly injured by a client. Worried about the girls, Annie pleads with Rick to let Faith and her friend go but he warns her to stay out of his business or face dire consequences. - What more could Rick possibly have up his sleeve?
Ignoring the threat, Annie goes to the flat to try and help Faith escape from her prison and comes face-to-face with an enraged Rick. Annie turns to Alex for help and is horrified to discover her fiancé is already in cahoots with Rick. Annoyed at Alex’s amorality, Annie calls off their engagement and turns to an unlikely source to help her give Faith freedom. - Who is the unlikely ally?
Elsewhere, Bob and Kim nervously await the arrival of their home insemination kit as baby making plans dominate their lives.
Angus and Cassie struggle with their self-imposed sex ban, believing it will help maximise their chances. Determined to get himself into peak physical condition, Angus hits the gym but has an accident on an exercise bike which threatens his participation in the baby making process.
A cash-strapped Alasdair feels the pinch when Suzie asks for Jules’ late rent. Alasdair attempts to confess all to Jules but guilt gets the better of him. Desperate to stop Jules becoming homeless, Alasdair takes drastic action to make ends meet.

This week in Shieldinch…Annie unwittingly puts herself in danger when she tries to help a vulnerable young woman in The Candle Room; Frankie discovers a hidden family secret which, if exposed, will rip the Roths apart; and Alasdair hopes to make up for the sins of his past by helping Jules when she becomes homeless.
Annie’s night out with sister Lorna is interrupted when she meets Faith, a woman who takes a bad turn at the club. Annie sees she’s seriously unwell and urges her to seek medical help but Faith is more concerned about getting back to her client. Suspecting the worst, Annie challenges Alex about prostitutes operating in his club.
However, it’s not long before Annie’s efforts to help Faith puts them both in jeopardy when it’s discovered Rick is behind the operation.
Elsewhere, Greig is none-too-happy to learn Lorna drunk texted her ex, Andy, and blames Annie for encouraging her.
Later, Frankie overhears Greig and Annie argue about a past incident. She puts the pieces together and confronts Annie with the secret, knowing it will send shockwaves through the family. Robbie is left reeling when his mum, Suzie, considers throwing a divorce party.
Saddened at the prospect, Robbie struggles to keep a lid on his emotions while managing his back injury pain. Trying to right the wrongs of his past, Alasdair comes to Jules’ aid when he discovers she is homeless, arranging her lodgings at the Tall Ship.
However, his act of charity proves costly when Suzie asks for rent money.

This week in Shieldinch…
Maggie sets out to better herself but struggles to escape the sins of her past; Frankie’s eighteenth birthday presents her with some important life lessons; and Liz feels alone in marking the anniversary of Malcolm’s death.
Maggie is optimistic hopes of a new job at the Health Centre are dashed due to her drinking past. Desperate to work, she takes on a cleaning job at the Tall Ship but Ellie and Caitlin have reservations about a recovering alcoholic working in a pub surrounded by temptation. Maggie impresses Suzie but there’s trouble in store when booze goes missing. Maggie proclaims her innocence but when Suzie discovers the whisky in her handbag, she fires her. Caitlin is disgusted at her mum but Ellie is secretly guilt-ridden.
Elsewhere, Frankie’s eighteenth birthday celebrations prove tense as she snipes at her mother, Lorna, over anything and everything. Greig tries to lift the mood by taking his daughter on a night out but that sours when she bumps into former friend, Jules.
Witnessing his daughter’s vindictive side, Greig challenges Frankie about her attitude and urges her to stop pushing people away or face being alone in adulthood. Liz feels overlooked as the first anniversary of Malcolm’s arrives. Molly and Alasdair are so wrapped up in their own lives they’re unaware of the significant date. However, when Amber reminds them, Molly organises a surprise gathering at the Tall Ship to mark the occasion much to Liz’s delight.
