Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) killed her abuser's son, Leo King (Tom Wells) in purely self defence after Leo stalked her for months to get revenge for his dad, Tony King (Chris Coghill), who committed suicide in prison when he was incarcerated for paedophile offences against Whitney.
It is safe to say, Leo had been keeping an eye on Whitney.
With Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) suspended from work, Whitney has been left all alone inside prison.
Officer Daniels (Jim Conway) delivered Whitney her evening meal and it was then she vowed to never eat another mouthful until her voice is heard thus meaning Whitney put herself on Hunger Strike.
Viewers took to Twitter to express their feelings on the matter.
It hasn't been made clear as to how long Whitney will be Hunger Striking for but Shona McGarty has all the tools in delivering this storyline perfectly.
This evening saw Whitney hand her dinner tray back to the Prison Guard as she announced her Hunger Strike.
EastEnders continues on the BBC.
